THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THE
SALT LAKE CENTRAL STATION AREA PLAN
The Salt Lake Central Station Area Plan Project is a multi-organization effort to create an Implementation Plan for the land near two of the City’s most highly used light rail stops: Central Station (AKA: “Intermodal Hub”) and North Temple Station.
The Project’s design team, comprised of urban design, transportation, and financial experts, has reviewed current plans and studies, conducted an economic market study, and gathered community input from key area stakeholders, transit riders, future users, and future residents.
Using that information, the design team identified the area’s most pressing issues and is now in the process of creating area alternatives for:
- The development of publicly owned properties in the study area; and
- The design of recommended public infrastructure and open space connections.
During the summer of 2018, we invited area stakeholders and the community to participate in a multi-day “Design Workshop” wherein the project team used public input to create a range of area plans and illustrations. Posted below is the full presentation from the project team’s August 2, 2018 unveiling of the design options. The Salt Lake Central Station Area Plan partners are currently reviewing this conceptual document that will inform the final recommendations for the project, which are slated to be presented in late-fall 2018.
