Sugar House Project Area   Project Area Overview In 1986, the RDA created the Sugar House Project Area, recognizing the need to revitalize the Sugar House business district. The Sugar House Project Area Plan, following in step with the City's Sugar House Master Plan, calls for integration of residential uses in the business district, encouraging adaptive reuse of structurally sound buildings, promoting development through street and traffic improvements, and providing adequate off-street parking and pedestrian improvements.  The RDA's involvement in Sugar House is evident in projects such as The Commons at Sugar House, the revitalization of the Sugar House Monument and the Irving Schoolhouse apartments. The RDA is currently leading the effort to build a modern streetcar line from McClelland Avenue to the TRAX Station at 200 West.
