Utah Performing Arts Center (UPAC)   Background The project website for the Utah Performing Arts Center contains extensive background information regarding the project. It can be found at this link: www.utahperformingartscenter.org Information for Contractors Through a Request for Qualifications Process conducted in 2009, Garfield Traub Swisher (GTS) was selected as the developer for the project. In its work on the project thus far, GTS, working with VCBO and Okland, has developed a program for the facility, but has not produced a design for the facility. A competitive process for architect and contractor will be conducted. The structure for that process has not yet been determined, but will be publicly announced as soon as a decision is made.  Utah Performing Arts Center Pre-Development Analysis developed by GTS. Current Project Status On December 6, 2001, the Salt Lake City Council authorized an initial expenditure of funds to cover the costs of design and property acquisition. Discussions with Salt Lake County are ongoing, and should result in a County Council decision in the Spring of 2012 regarding whether or not the County will participate in the project.
