Salt Lake City's Pilot Program Description, Activities, and Reports

Working with the community to eliminate environmental barriers to economic development in the Gateway District.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Salt Lake City a special grant under their Brownfields Pilot Program, a nationwide program to encourage communities to find solutions to environmental contamination —both real and perceived— within local urban areas. For the Gateway District, the brownfields project strives to reduce the uncertainties associated with environmental contamination and legal liability issues, and to streamline the process of remediation for property owners.
